MISHAWAKA - John L. Takach, 79, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family. John was born on July 3, 1937, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late John and Georgann (Fredrick) Takach. He was married to the late Lois (Bass) on September 9, 1960, in Roseland, IN. Lois preceded John in death on March 27, 2014. John is survived by his children, Lorie Middlebrook, of South Bend, IN, John Takach Jr., of Houston, TX, Donald (Gail) Takach, of San Diego, CA, stepdaughter, Kris (Jim) Wilma, of South Bend, IN, siblings, Karen (Allen) Zunick, of Anaconda, MT, Norma Balcher, of Texas, grandchildren, David Vinnage, and Dalton and Nicole Middlebrook. John was also preceded in death by 1 daughter, Cheryl Ann Takach, 1 brother, Donald Takach, 2 sisters, Beverly Wright and Rose Doan. John was a retired police officer with Osceola and Mishawaka Police Departments. John owned and operated John's Radio and TV Service. A memorial gathering will be held for John on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 5-7 pm in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN. Private burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
