NOTRE DAME - Sister M. Joellen (Anne Marie Sabin), C.S.C., died in peace at Saint Mary's Convent at the age of 88. She was born in Washington, DC, and the majority of her more than 50 years as an elementary teacher were in schools within the Archdioceses of Baltimore and Washington, DC. One of her principals praised her in these words: "What a joy it is to go into her classroom and see the 'nice' things that Sisters always taught children to do." Sister Joellen endeared herself to students, parents and faculty. Reception of the body and wake service is on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 4:30 p.m., with Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, January 10, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. All ceremonies in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto.
