SOUTH BEND - Mark Randall “Randy” Jankowski of South Bend, IN passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2018 at his home. He was 57 years old. Randy was born on September 5, 1960 in South Bend, IN to Richard A. and Miriam A. (Myers) Jankowski. Richard worked as a truck driver for Reith Riley Construction Company for 39 years. Along with his parents, Randy is survived by his loving girlfriend, Kim Basker of South Bend; his niece Erin (Adam) Windler of Noblesville, IN; nephew Andrew “Drew” Jankowski of Mishawaka, IN; uncles, Robert Jankowski of Mishawaka and William (Marilyn) Myers of South Bend; aunt Sharon Kovach of South Bend; and sister-in-law Tina Jankowski of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey M. Jankowski; grandparents, Dorthea and Robert Myers and Lucille and Frank Jankowski; uncles, John Jankowski and Jim and Bob Myers; and aunts, Mary Theresa Hunt and Norma Jean White. Randy was a member of Local Union #364 Teamsters and American Legion Post 363 in Lakeville where he served as Chaplin. Randy was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears, and NASCAR. He had planned on attending the Daytona 500 this year. Randy enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a graduate of Marian High School Class of 1978. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 20 at 12:30 PM at Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of Mark Randall “Randy” Jankowski may be made to American Legion Post 363, 214 North Lake Street, Lakeville, IN, or to a charity of your choice.
