NEW CARLISLE, IN. -- John Saylor, 73, of 229 W Michigan St, died at 5:08 am Friday [11/13/1992] in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Born May 12, 1919,in Round Grove, he had lived in this area since 1941, coming from Hebron. On Oct. 12, 1946, in New Carlisle, he married Dolores Diaz. She survives with a daughter, Julie McClure of Kokomo, IN; three sons, John of Millcreek, and James & Douglas, both New Carlisle; 4 grandchildren; and three brothers, Leonard Saylor of Bowling Green, KY, Paul Saylor of Valparaiso and Carlyle Saylor of Wayland, MA. Mr. Saylor was a member of New Carlisle United Methodist Church and the Loins Club of New Carlisle. He was a self-employed farmer and worked for Inland Distributing for 10 years. Prior to that he worked for Roger Waltz at the hardware store in downtown New Carlisle. Internment was on Monday, November 16, 1992 at 11am in Door Village Cemetery in LaPorte, IN officiated by the Rev. Cindy Haley from the United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Living Memorial Fund of the church.
