NAPPANEE - Thelma L. LaVine, 94, of Nappanee, passed away at 9:35 pm, Friday, March 24, 2017, in Signature Health Care of Bremen. Thelma was born on December 12, 1922, the daughter of Louis and Ella Bliley. On February 14, 1943, she married her sweetheart, Alfred LaVine. They were married for 73 years before his passing on November 16, 2016. She is survived by three children, Diane (Robert) Coryn, Marc (Pamela) LaVine, and Eric (Vivian) LaVine; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Trisha LaVine, infant sister, Lavera, and brother, Kenneth. Thelma is a 1941 graduate of Madison Township. She is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodland, and was the owner/operator of Heritage House of Interiors, which served the interior decor industry for over three decades. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery. The family request that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 15697 New Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544; or to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
