Laura M. Kujawa, 93, of Hamilton Street in South Bend, Ind., died at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 12, 1906, in South Bend, to Jacob and Mary Ann (Grabarek) Faltynski, and remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Kujawa was employed by the former Bendix Corporation for many years. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Grandmothers Club. In January 1946 she married Steve Kujawa, who preceded her in death in August 1980. Mrs. Kujawa was also preceded in death by a stepson, Eugene Kujawa in 1990, and by seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Marlene Stevens of South Bend; two sons, William C. Maciejewski of South Bend and Jack E. (Renata) Maciejewski of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Gertrude Bystry of South Bend; two stepsons, Raymond Kujawa of South Bend and Edward Kujawa of Winamac, Ind.; and by 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 4, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, June 3, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 319 S. Main Street, South Bend, IN 46601.
