SOUTH BEND - Louis F. Kazmierski, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014, in the West Bend Nursing Facility. Louis was born April 17, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Louis and Geneva (Transue) Kazmierski. Louis married Adeline (Rzepnicki) Kazmierski, who preceded him in death on June 24, 2014. Louis was also preceded in death by a son, David Kazmierski, and brother, Michael Kazmierski. Survivors of Louis include his children, Callen (Joyce) Kazmierski of Marshall, AR, Garrett Kazmierski of Mishawaka, Stephanie (Bruce) Brayshaw of Farmingdale, N.J., Barry Kazmierski, and Noreen (Ken) Plencner of South Bend; grandchildren, Brent, Shannon, Jason and Alena Brayshaw, and Ashley & Samantha Plencner; brothers-in-law, Casimir, Bernard, Norbert (Josephine) and Stephen Rzepnicki; sister-in-law, Gloria Rzepnicki of South Bend; brother, Tom (Paula) Kazmierski of Niles, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Louis honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired in 1983 from the South Bend Post Office with over 30 years of service as a mail carrier. He was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana.
