SOUTH BEND - Francis J. "Frank" Wukovits Jr., 71, passed away Saturday. Surviving are children, Kathy Lehmann, Karen Kochanowski and Frank Wukovits; grandchildren, Walter & Elizabeth Lehmann, Morgan Kochanowski, Kristen, Joshua and Allison Wukovits. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Family and friends may call one half hour prior to services in the church. Zahoran Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

SOUTH BEND - Francis J. "Frank" Wukovits Jr., 71, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Hospice House. Frank was born on May 21, 1940, in South Bend, to Frank J. and Gladys (Hoswell) Wukovits Sr. He was employed as an engineer with WNIT-TV, and as an insurance salesman for the William Penn Association. Mr. Wukovits was a National Director with William Penn and also hosted the Hungarian Hour on WNDU radio. He served his country in the United States Army, and loved to tell stories, garden, fish, and watch the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann, and two sisters, Theresa Myers and Marianne Wentland. Surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Scott) Lehmann of South Bend and Karen (Ken) Kochanowski of Osceola; a son, Frank (Kellie) Wukovits of South Bend; six grandchildren, Walter Lehmann, Elizabeth Lehmann, Morgan Kochanowski, Kristen Wukovits, Joshua Wukovits and Allison Wukovits; and a sister, Elizabeth Phillips of Knoxville, TN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call one-half hour prior to services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
