Car hits, kills, former Hoosier in New Jersey Frank Mindykowski, 32, of Philadelphia, a former South Bend resident, was
killed Sunday in a traffic accident in Gloucester Twp, Camden County, New Jersey. According to New Jersey State Police, Mindykowski had stopped his car at a rest area on the New Jersey State Highway 42 in Gloucester Twp. Police said the hood on Mindykowski's car was raised and there were other
indications that the car was broken down. Mindykowski was making a telephone phone call from a phone booth in the rest area when a driver entering the area lost control of his car and struck the booth. Mindykowski was pronounced dead on arrival at about 5:30 p.m. (EST)
Sunday at Washington Memorial Hospital, Turnerville, N.J. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Edward and Irene Mindykowski
of 729 N. Elmer. Mindykowski had been employed by Vivian's Hair Design Studio five years before moving from South Bend six years ago.
Services and burial will be Thursday in Philidelphia. The Joseph V. Fusco Funeral Home, Philidelphia, is in charge of arrangements.
