Glenn Boudreau
September 6, 1931 ~ December 25, 2020 (age 89)
Granger - Artell Glenn Boudreau, 89, passed away at 9:15 pm, on Friday, December 25, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Glenn was born on September 6, 1931 in South Bend, to the late Hector and Henrietta (Janowiak) Boudreau. On October 8, 1955, at St. Hedwig’s Church in South Bend, Glenn married Joan (Sikorski). They celebrated 55 wonderful years of marriage together, until Joan passed on January 7, 2011. Glenn was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Boudreau. Glenn is survived by a son, David Boudreau of Tampa, FL; his daughters, Donna (Robert) Borlik of Walkerton, and Denise (Gary) Moulds of South Bend; grandchildren, Sean (Angie) Boudreau of South Bend, Austin “Doc” Borlik of Mishawaka, Jacy (Kyle) Todd of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Dori Borlik of Sheridan, Wyoming; great-grandson, Finnley Glenn Boudreau of South Bend; sister, Sharon (Jerry) Hans of South Bend; and his very loving and faithful heart kitty, Irish. After completing high school in Grand Rapids, MI, Glenn honorably served his country during the Korean War in The United States Army. Upon returning home to South Bend, he proudly worked at Studebakers for several years. In 1966, he began working for Dodge Alliance and Manufacturing, where he then retired after 27 years of service. Glenn also worked as an usher at Notre Dame for many years, and had a lot of wonderful stories to tell about his friendship with Father Hesburgh, and his brief interactions with people like Cher and Elvis. Glenn loved watching Notre Dame Football and the Lady Irish on the basketball court, western movies, and playing cards. He was an avid euchre player, and he would win often. He was so good that his euchre friends at the St. Joe Club and the Knights of Columbus would often ask themselves “what would Glenn do?” when questioning their hand. The answer was the same every time, “pick it up, and I’m going alone!” Glenn always had a good story or a bad joke to tell, and made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many. The family would like to thank everyone that has reached out to him, and Heartland Hospice for their guidance. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children. A Celebration of Glenn’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the Service. Due to COVID-19, masks will be required. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery at Notre Dame.
