Sister Mary Jude Niemier, CSFN, formerly Mary Ann Niemier, 63, of 80 Appleby Road, Stafford, Queensland, Australia, formerly of South Bend, passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, December 1, 2005, in Stafford, Queensland. She was born on March 6, 1942, in South Bend, Indiana, to Aloysius and Lottie (Kuczwara) Niemier. Sister Jude entered the convent of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1955. She took her final vows in 1965, and since 1967 had served in several missions in Eastern Australia. Sister Jude is survived by her brother, Al Niemier of South Bend; her sister, Stella Niemier of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and her brother, Father Roch Niemier, OFM, of Franklin, Wisconsin. She also has a nephew, Michael Niemier of South Bend. Sister Jude was preceded in death by her mother, Lottie Niemier, and her father, Aloysius Niemier. Funeral services will be held on December 7 in Stafford-Brisbane, Australia, with burial in Sydney, Australia. A local memorial service will be held at a later date.
