Mark Lawrence Agee, 54, of Centerline, formerly of Gaylord, passed away on October 10, 2012. Mark was born on October 9, 1958 to Donald and Martha (Schulte) Agee. He was raised in Gaylord and graduated from St. Mary High School in 1976. Mark is survived by his four children, Megan, Jillian, Kristen and Connor Agee of Centerline. He is also survived by his parents, Donald and Martha Agee of Gaylord and his siblings, David (Pam) Agee of Traverse City, Daniel (Renee) Agee of Gaylord, Doug Agee of Gaylord, Karen Agee of Gaylord and Laura (Steve) Lanuti of Laurinburg, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles. Mark attended the University of Detroit and received a BA degree. He then traveled to Ireland and studied at Cork University for a year. While in Ireland, Mark became the Junior Lightweight Boxing Champion of Ireland. He fought and won 12 fights with none of them going beyond the second round. He was asked to stay and be part of Irelands Olympic team but he chose to return to the States. When he came home, he attended the University of Michigan and received his teaching certificate. He taught in numerous schools before continuing his education at Wayne State University where he earned a BS in Nursing. Mark fought a long, tough battle with Diabetes and received a kidney transplant in 2008. He has suffered with many health issues since then but never lost his quirky sense of humor or his laugh. He remained positive and fiercely devoted to his children and his family. He will be deeply missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Nelson Funeral Home.
