ELKHART - Leon Stankovich 75, Elkhart, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital. Leon was born September 3, 1941 in Manistique, Michigan to the late Stanley and Addie Stankovich. Leon was a business owner of many manufacturing companies; after retiring he occupied his time with playing golf, Texas-Hold’em poker, fishing and watching Michigan Football and Chicago Cubs. Leon attended church at Northside Baptist Church of Elkhart.Leon is survived by his loving wife, Karen of 37 years, of Elkhart, children Patricia (Lenard) Bieber of Las Vegas, NV, Pamela (Charles) Trout of Osceola, Bradley (Shauna) Stoll of South Bend, Michelle (Bradley) Hostetler of Elkhart and Mike (Sheri) Stankovich of Bristol; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 6 grand dogs; 3 brothers, Walt, Mike, Stan and 1 sister, Shirley.Preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua and brothers, Patrick and William. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017, 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services at Northside Baptist Church, 53198 County Road 9, Elkhart. Funeral services will be August 1, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Pastor Carl Henry will be officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association.
