Velma C. (Payne) Molnar, 72, residing in South Bend, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2006, in her home following an illness. She was born December 10, 1933, in South Bend, as the daughter of Leslie and Cora B. (Leavins) Payne, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community. As Velma Payne, she married Louis Joseph Molnar who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Aubrey J. Payne, Leslie M. (Marvin) Payne, and Charley H. (Harold) Payne. Velma was dedicated to raising her six children. She loved her church family, and was a faithful member of Redeemer Missionary Church in South Bend for more than thirty years. Mrs. Molnar is survived by four daughters, Lisa (Mel) Humphrey of Walkerton, IN, Denise (Jack) Rockstad of North Carolina, Christine (Richard) Sellenberg of South Bend, and Brenda Molnar (Mike Shubert) of North Liberty; two sons, Stephen Molnar (Carolyn Piechorowski) of Weaverville, NC, and Jeffrey (Deborah) Molnar of Goshen, IN. Also surviving Velma are 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty (John) Snyder of Mishawaka; and her beloved dog, "Cesear". Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Jason A. Nicholls, pastor of Redeemer Missionary Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park.
