SOUTH BEND - Stella K. Niemier, 75, passed away at 12:42 PM, Friday, January 25, 2013 in Milwaukee, WI. Stella was born December 29, 1937 to the late Aloysius and Lottie (Kuczwara) Niemier. Stella was preceded in death by Father Roch (Jacob) Niemier OFM, and Sister Mary Jude (Maryann) Niemier CSFN. She will be greatly missed by brother, Aloysius (Carol); nephew, Michael (Amy) and their daughter, Sister Caroline Jakubowski SSND; and the Walter Baran family. Stella was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in Notre Dame, Indiana. She retired from her career as a registered nurse in Milwaukee, WI. Stella will be fondly remembered as a kindhearted person who utilized her nursing skills in caring for many elderly people. Stella was passionate about sports, especially football. She loved to read, play cards, and collect angels, bells, and tea pots. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed in South Bend, Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 12:00 PM (noon) at the St. Joseph's Chapel on the campus of Holy Cross College. Final internment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials contributions may be made to Holy Cross College.
