HUNTINGTON - Diane M. Farkas, age 63, of Huntington, passed away Monday January 30, 2017 at 5:48 am at Parkview Hospital Randalia. She graduated from New Prairie High School in New Carlisle in 1972. She was a professional volunteer, dedicating many hours as an EMT in Warren, Hartford City and Montpelier, at the Huntington County Humane Shelter and traveling extensively as a disaster worker for the American Red Cross. Diane was born December 13, 1953, in South Bend, the daughter of Leo and Johnnie Geraldine (Raper) Jankowski. On June 2, 1973, she married her beloved husband of 43 years Joseph M. Farkas in New Carlisle and Survives in Huntington. Also surviving are a daughter Jennifer (Bob Kukla)Uttrich of Chicago, IL; a son Nicholas (Shannon DisPennett) Farkas of Fort Wayne; a grandddaughter Brynn KuKla; A brother Phillip (Karen) Jankowski of South Bend; 2 sisters Lisa Ann (Josh Makami) Banholzer of Seattle and Tina Louise Stombaugh of New Carlisle; a niece Hannah Stombaugh; and a nephew Samuel Stombaugh. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Louise Jankowski. A graveside service will be held Thursday February 2 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
