On Apr. 21, 1917, Rev. Laurence Horvath married Gisella Fucsok, widow of John Vegh, daughter of Paul & Catherine (Volesci) Fucsok, and Zygmond Stropka, son of John & Anna Bubics Stropka, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana. The marriage applications they filed with the county indicate that they were born in Hungary, Gisella on June 21, 1889, and Zygmond on Oct. 7, 1883. He signed his application, "Zsigmond Stropka". Gisella's application also indicates that her father Paul Fucsok was a resident of South Bend, and that her first marriage ended by death in 1916.*

South Bend News-Times, Wed., Nov. 1918, p. 4:
"Mrs. Stropha Zsigmond (sic), 30 years old, died at her home, 305 O'Brien st., Monday afternoon following a short illness of influenza. She is survived by five children, Kate, Helen, John, George, and Anna, all living at home, and one brother, Joe Fucsok, and one sister, Mary Heiniez (sic: Hernicz). She had lived in the city 11 years."

The baptism records of St. Stephen's Catholic Church include the births of John Vegh in 1913, George Vegh in 1915, and Anna Stropka in 1918.

*South Bend News-Times, Wed., Feb. 1, 1916:
"John Veigh (sic) died Monday morning at the county infirmary following a short illness. He is survived by a wife and four children at 513 Pine st."
