Julius Fozo Jr., 77, residing on Locust Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, in his home. Mr. Fozo owned and operated Cambridge Builders for over 30 years. He was born on July 25, 1927, in South Bend, to Julius and Lottie (Lello) Fozo , and lived in this area all of his life. On June 29, 1947, in South Bend, he married Betty E. Powell. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Betty's passing on Aug. 4, 2000. Mr. Fozo is survived by his five daughters, Cheryl L. Fozo and Sue Ellen Fozo , both of South Bend, Cindy L. (Mark) Sickmiller of Middletown, Ohio, Becky A. Snyder of Plymouth, Ind., and Amy Jo (Jeffery) Szymanski of Chesterfield, Va.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and three nephews, Jon Kroll of Florida, Paul Kroll of LaPorte, Ind., and David Kroll of Washington. Mr. Fozo was preceded in death by his wife; one sister, Audrey Kroll; and one granddaughter. Mr. Fozo was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He was a member of Gospel Center Missionary Church, South Bend. He touched many people's lives and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th St., South Bend. Rev. Philip Jerome, pastor of the church, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and one hour prior to services on Saturday in the church. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.Contributions in memory of Julius Fozo Jr. may be made to Center for Hospice and Pallative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
