MISHAWAKA - Dennis McDonald Moore, 66, passed away on Thursday, May 16, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Dennis was born on September 23, 1946, in Mishawaka, to Carl and Kathryn (Stetler) Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Sally Burton. On September 7, 1968, in St. Monica's, he married the former Julie A. Verspelt. Surviving are his loving wife, Julie; a daughter, Renee (Andrew) Lewinski of South Bend; son, Brad (Tracy) Moore of Osceola; grandchildren, Brandi Moore, Kailyn Lewinski and Savannah Lewinski; and a brother, Lynn Moore of St. Cloud, MN; and by many nieces and nephews.Dennis graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1964. He worked for American Electric Power as a Lineman and trouble shooter for 38 years before he retired in 2006. He was a veteran of the United States Army in the 77th field artillery during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed walleye fishing, Notre Dame football, playing poker, and doing yard work. Most of all he enjoyed having breakfast and lunch with his friends and coworkers catching up and having a good time. Dennis was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. He will be missed by all. Visitation will be on Monday, May 20, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., with funeral services at 2:30 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Bob Vale officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, with Military Rites by the VWF Post 360/American Legion 161 burial team.
