MISHAWAKA - Rita H. Latoski, 87, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, in Memorial Hospital in South Bend. Rita was born on October 9, 1929, in South Bend, to Joseph and Helen (Piekarski) Lyczynski. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Lyczynski, Irene Tubicsak and Clara Gorski; and brothers, Alex, Arthur, Joseph and Clem Lyczynski. Surviving are her children, Richard Latoski of Deltona, FL, Marylou (Ted) Pankiewicz of South Bend, Diane (Robert) Veldman of Brighton, MI, David Latoski of Mishawaka and Denita (Rick) McCrum of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Michael Pankiewicz, Cari Grace and Shelby Veldman; and one great-grandchild, Frances Grace. Rita was a lifetime area resident. She worked for Dutron as a Sewer for eight years, retiring in 1994 but continued to work part-time. Rita led a quiet life; she enjoyed reading her Bible, painting ceramics, and above all else she loved her family immensely. As per Rita's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m., family will receive friends one hour prior, on Sunday, March 12, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
