GRANGER - Grace I. Nyerges, 77, residing in Granger, passed away peacefully at 2:35 pm Monday, June 5, 2017 in her home. She was born July 19, 1939 in South Bend to the late William B. and Florence (Williams) Fenimore, and remained a lifelong area resident, graduating from Adams High School. On January 19, 1959, Grace married Albert Nyerges, who survives. In addition to her loving husband of 58 years, she is survived by two sons, Don (Norma) Nyerges of Elkhart, IN and Ken (Rebecca) Nyerges of Okeechobee, FL; three grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Nyerges, Mandy Miller and Daniel Nyerges; five great grandchildren, Weston, Adalyn, Bridget and Beckett Nyerges and Amaya Miller; one sister, Patricia Cressy of Des Plaines, IL; and one brother, Bill Fenimore, Jr. of South Bend. She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Fenimore. Grace loved her family and greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing any and all card games as well as blackjack and other gambling at the Blue Chip and Four Winds Casinos. Grace especially enjoyed travelling with her sister, Patricia, and sister-in-law, Connie, including California, Nashville, TN and Las Vegas. Funeral services for Grace will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 9, 2017 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 in the funeral home.
