SOUTH BEND - Lillian L. Nowak, 72, passed away at 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in her residence. Lillian was born on December 5, 1936 in South Bend to the late Sylvester and Felicia (Wagnerowski) Nowaczewski. She married Richard Nowak on January 7, 1956 in South Bend. He passed away on February 25, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Nowaczewski; two brothers-in-law, Jerome Klota and Paul Pedersen; and by her son-in-law, Robert A. Lodyga. She is survived by her two daughters, Cyndy (Ray "Bugs") Wroblewski of South Bend and Rana Lodyga of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jeffery Wroblewski, Amanda Lodyga and Robert J. Lodyga, all of South Bend; four sisters, Clara Pedersen of Mishawaka, Theresa Klota of South Bend, Mary (Al) Moser of Osceola and Martha (Jerry) Vitek of New Troy, MI; three brothers-in-law, Donald (Linda) Nowak of South Bend, James (Linda) Kiska of South Bend and Greg (Debbie) Kiska of Mishawaka; several nieces and nephews; as well as many great nieces and nephews. Lillian worked for South Bend Control. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, in the funeral home, prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Catholic Church, 920 Wilber St., South Bend, IN 46628. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy,.
