Rev. George Francis Horwarth CSC, 77, died in St. Joseph Hospital Albuquerque, N.M. He had been in poor health and had lived there in retirement for many years. Born in South Bend Feb. 17, 1884, he began his studies for the priesthood in Holy Cross Seminary at Notre Dame on Sept. 4, 1898; entered the novitiate July 4, 1903, and made his final profession July 4, 1905. He was ordained priest June 26, 1908. He has been mostly engaged in parochial and chaplain work. His survivors include two brothers, Frank G. of South Bend and Bernard Horvath, of San Francisco, Calif. The body will be brought back to Notre Dame for funeral Services.

The Office of the Dead will be recited at 5 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Church on the University of Notre Dame campus for Rev. George Francis Horwarth CSC, 77, who died in Albuquerque, N. M. Monday. Friends may call in the Corby Hall Chapel after 7 p.m. today. The requiem mass will be chanted at 8:30 Friday in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Community Cemetery at Notre Dame
