SOUTH BEND - Lorraine M. Shafer, 95, of South Bend passed away at home on Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was born on August 28, 1922 in Baroda, Michigan to the late Sherman and Helen (Unruh) Davis. On February 21, 1942 she married John Shafer, who passed away on June 14, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Sue McCorkle; her brother, Edgar Davis; and her sister, Dixie Jane Davis. Lorraine is survived by her sons, Bruce Allen (Toni Marie) Shafer of Greenfield, IN and Scott Clay Shafer of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Virginia (Clay) Cochran of South Bend, IN. Visitation for Lorraine will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 4 to 6:30 pm at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles, MI.
