Gene Kaczynski and Marlene Wawrzyniak were married February 9, 1957, in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, South Bend. They have three children, Michael of Osceola, Judy Zehendner of South Bend and Susan Thompson of Osceola. They also have two grandsons and twin granddaughters. Gene retired in 1995 as service manager from the Canteen Vending Co. after 41 years and Marlene retired in 2004 from National City Bank after 34 years of employment. After retiring, they have enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and winter vacations to Florida. They have lived in South Bend all their lives. A family dinner to celebrate their long and happy marriage has been planned.
