WAKARUSA - Bernard J. Janicki, 71, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, in his residence. Bernard was born May 24, 1941, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Helen (Banach) Janicki. Bernard was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Janicki. On August 29, 1964, in South Bend, Bernie married Susie Hipskind, who survives along with his children, Stephen (Mee) Janicki of Goshen, Michael Janicki of Osceola, John Janicki of Wakarusa and Mary Beth Greer of Wakarusa; grandson, Dustin Greer; brothers, Richard Janicki of Granger and Gerald Janicki of South Bend; and sister, Jeanine Van Es of South Bend. Bernard served his country in the United States Army, and he was co-owner of Bearing Repair Specialists INC. He was a parishioner of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bremen, enjoyed ice fishing, and most of all loved spending time with his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, May 23, 2013, in St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center of Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana 46637; or to St. Dominic Catholic Church, 803 W. Bike St., Bremen, Indiana 46506.
