Helen Wadzinski, 82, of 229 Parkwood Lane, died at 3:10 am on Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wadzinski was born Jan. 4, 1905, in Poland, and lived most of her life in South Bend, coming from Poland. On June 20, 1927, in South Bend, as Helen Kalka, she married Felix J. Wadzinski, who survives. Also surving are a son, Ralph J Wadzinski of South Bend; a grandson; a sister, Hattie Lukasiewicz of South Bend; and three brothers, Casimir Kalka, Erwin Kalka, and Bernie Kalka, all of South Bend. A son, Eugene J died May 5, 1978. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where St. Adalbert's Harvest House will say the rosary at 3 p.m. Tuesday and Holy Name society will join the parish in recitation of the rosay at 7 p.m. She was a member of the church and its Sisters Auxiliary, Rosary Society, and Harvest House.
ADDITIONAL: Helen was the daughter of Stanly and Mary Kalka. She immigrated from German Poland to the United States in 1907 as a very young child. Her younger siblings are; John, Casimer, Bronislawa (Blanche), Jadwiga (Hattie), Wladyslaw, Bronislaw (Bernie), and Ervin Stanley. Obituary: South Bend Tribune, Monday, June 27, 1987 pageB6
