SOUTH BEND - Clara J. Bilinski, 79, passed away on Saturday, June 6,2009 at 7:10pm in Hospice House. Clare was born on May 20,1930 m North Liberty, IN to the late Steve and Mary (Kominkiewicz) Niespodziany. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Irene Dabros, Eleanor Wawrzyniak, and Helen Morrissey; and by her brother Edward Ruszkowski. On October 11,1952 she married Edward, he survives along with their children, Karen Doughty ofNaperville, IL and Bryan (Linda) Bilinski of Traverse City, MI; and by her three wonderful granddaughters who she dearly loved and brought great, great happiness to her, Ashley (Nick Swan) Doughty of Granger, and Lauren and Kimberly Bilinski of Traverse City, MI. She is also survived by her brother, Walter Ruskowski of New Carlisle, IN; and by many nieces and nephews. Clare worked for RACO, and was a Time Keeper for 21 years, before retiring after 33 years of service. She was a member ofRACO Retirees and was on the Board of Directors at RACO Credit Union. She also was a member of St. Vincent De Paul. Clare was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, and belonged to Holy Family Money Counters. She enjoyed gardening, travel, interior designing, and landscape architecture. Clare was a Master Gardener. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, and was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears Football fan. Clare had said "When God made the mold for Ed, He then threw it away knowing He could not make anyone more perfect for me." They have enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage. The family would like to give special Love and Thanks to Dr. Michael Method and the staff at The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619 or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct, South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 10:00 am m Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Visitation will also be from 9:00 am to 9:30 am on Wednesday, in the Funeral Home, prior to the Mass. For those who are unable to attend the Funeral Liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
