SOUTH BEND - Mary M. Horvath, 79, passed away at 5:15 am Thursday, January 3, 2008, in her residence. Mary was born on August 21, 1928, in South Bend, to Charles and Anna (Horvath) Kovach. They preceded her in death along with a sister, Grace Smith; and a brother, Charles Kovach. Mrs. Horvath was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Hungary Church and belonged to its St. Anne Society and Sacred Heart & Rosary Society, as well as the Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Joe Young Men's Club. On May 6, 1950 in South Bend she married Otto Horvath who survives. Also surviving are a son, David (Sally) Horvath of Naperville, IL; two grandsons, Charlie and Samuel, whom she dearly loved; a sister, Anna Menyhart of South Bend; and two brothers, Steve Kovach and Louis R. Kovach, both of South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church.
