South Bend, IN - Dixie L. (Grounds) Rospopo, 85 of South Bend, passed away at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 9, 2020. She was born on April 25, 1934 in South Bend, to Walter and Valda (Buck) Grounds, both of whom preceded her in death. On September 12, 1953, she married Richard Rospopo, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2007. She retired from Indiana University at South Bend, She is survived by her children, Thomas (Michelle) Rospopo, and Cheryl Klota; two grandsons, Christopher (Nicole) Klota and Adam (Ashley) Klota; and two great-grandchildren, Grace Klota and Ryan Klota. Also surviving is her brother, James Grounds. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 10:00 am. Friends will be received from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 12 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
