SOUTH BEND - Norman J. Podell, 88, of Evergreen Park, IL, was born in South Bend. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, the beloved husband of the late Judy (nee Busezsky), loving father of Joan (Neil) White, Norman "Timmy" Podell and the late Ginny (Mike) Klemmer, proud grandfather of Michael B. Klemmer, III, Valerie Klemmer, Garret Klemmer, William White and Justin White; great-grandfather of Virginia Klemmer, Cassidy Klemmer and Garret Klemmer Jr.; and dear brother of the late Richard J. (late Joyce) Podell, the late Joan Walczak and the late Kathleen Sobieralski. His funeral is Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Kosary Funeral Home, 9837 S. Kedzie Avenue, to St. Bernadette Church, where Mass is 11:00 a.m. Interment is in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday morning in the funeral home. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Germaine Charismatic Prayer Group, St. Bernadette Cenacle, Swinging Sugar Squares, a graduate of Notre Dame University and member of Evergreen Park American Legion Post #857.
