Lillian Pasalich

SOUTH BEND - Lillian Pasalich, 93, passed away at 10:15 am Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Lillian was born on July 7, 1920, in Chicago, to Lazo and Grace Dzodzo. Lil was very active with the Serbian Orthodox Monastery and Gracanica Camp. She made beautiful afghans her whole life and was an antiquer. On Oct. 14, 1944, in South Bend, she married Novak (John) Pasalich. He died on Jan. 13, 1976. Lillian was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Perkovich, Nada Dabich and Dr. Dan Jordan. Surviving are three sons, Dr. John (Fran) Pasalich of Fort Wayne, Gregory (Kimber) Pasalich of Cicero, IN, and Daniel (Sue) Pasalich of South Bend; 7 grandchildren, Jason, John, Steve, Amy, Alec, Aleah and Danielle; and 9 great-grandchildren. Lil had a special relationship with her nephew, Ivan Perkovich, and niece, Linda Wade, and will be missed by all other relatives and friends. The Pasalich family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Gail English and the staff at Memorial Hospital for the excellent care provided to their mother. Funeral services will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue, where a prayer service will be recited at 7:00 pm. Friends may also call 1 hour prior to services in the church Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gracanica Camp, P.O. Box 371, Grayslake, IL 60030.
