July 30, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Loretta Marie (Piatkowski) Mink passed away July 30, at her home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Loretta received her Nursing training at Holy Cross Central School of Nursing, before going on to receive her RN and Bachelor's in Nursing from University of Phoenix, before practicing nursing for nearly 50 years. Loretta is survived by her son Staff Sgt. Micheal T. Mink, USMC Ret., daughter-in-law, Gunnery Sgt. Angela C. Mink, grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Jo-Elizabeth, Madison, Kolby, and Monique, and great grandson, Michael D. Mink, Jr. She is also survived by her sister Sylvia Buszkiewicz of New Carlisle, Ind., brother, Joseph Piatkowski of Mishawaka, Ind., brother-in-law Larry Slaughter and wife Bernie of Williamsburg, Va., and nieces and nephews, Charles, Beth Ann, John, Jessica and James. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Mink, and son, Anthony P. Mink. Services will be held Lietz & Fraze Funeral Home at 10 am, Saturday, Aug 10.
