Ruth A. DePaepe, 73, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2006, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was our mother, our sister and our friend. Ruth was born on April 6, 1932, in South Bend, to Edwin and Celia (Bukowski) Laskowski. Both have preceded her in death. She married Lt. Col. William C. DePaepe on June 4, 1955, in South Bend, and he passed away on July 3, 1974. Ruth is survived by daughters, Lynne (Don) Howard and Janet (Michael) Wozniak, both of South Bend; sons, Richard, Robert (JoEllen) and Terry, all of South Bend; grandchildren, Kelsey and Christopher, both of South Bend; sisters, Mary Lou (the late Richard) Szymanski of South Bend and Alvina "Bunny" (Ed) Rogers of New Haven, Ind.; brother, Ralph (Dottie) Laskowski of South Bend; and mother-in-law, Mary DePaepe of Mishawaka. She graduated from South Bend Catholic in 1949. Visitation will be on Monday, February 20, 2006, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend. Rev. Derrick Sneyd, pastor of St. Jude Catholic Church, will begin the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2006, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
