SOUTH BEND - Julia V. Dobrzykowski, 81, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, in her residence. Julia was born on July 23, 1928, in South Bend, to Steve and Rose (Daros) Bagarus, who preceded her in death along with a sister, Ella Barkovich, and three brothers, Steve Bagarus, Louis Bagarus and Richard Bagarus. On June 22, 1946, in South Bend, as Julia Bagarus, she married Ernest J. Dobrzykowski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Bloss of South Bend; two sons, Stephen Dobrzykowski and Michael (Chris) Dobrzykowski, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Steven (Trish) Dobrzykowski, Bethany (Michael) Bowling, Melinda (Jared) Huff, Shelley (Charles) Morris, Heather (Bradley) Kill, Jason (Sara) Dobrzykowski and Adam Dobrzykowski; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Dobrzykowski, Courtney Dobrzykowski, Gabriel Bowling, Michaela Bowling, Brynn Bowling and Tristen Dobrzykowski; a sister, Rose Zwierzynski of South Bend; and a brother, Julius Bagarus of South Bend. Julia was a very loving and caring person. She was always the kind of person everyone came to for love and advice, and who gave happiness to all. She will be missed by family and friends but never forgotten by all. We all love you dearly mom and we know you're in a better place now in heaven. Till the last days of her life, she still cared for and loved her husband, Ernest, of 63 years. You were truly a beautiful person and we will always cherish all of our memories with you. We thank all our loving friends from Hospice who took such good care of Julia during her final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Cremation will follow, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
