Thaddeus R. Jozwiak, 84, of Ford Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday in Healthwin Hospital. Ted retired in 1978 after 33 years as a truck driver for Waggoner's Fuel Company. He was also employed by Hertz #1 and Flowers by Don. Ted was born on March 24, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifelong area resident.
On Sept. 19, 1936, in South Bend, Ind., he married Leona Radecki, who survives; one daughter, Marianne Grochowalski (Robert) of South Bend, Ind.; son, Thomas J. Jozwiak (Susan) of South Bend, Ind.; six grandchildren: Michael, Robert, David, and Cindy Jozwiak, and Tom Grochowalski and Rebecca Rankin; one great-grandson, Michael Jozwiak; sisters, Dorothy Pawlowski and Clementine Grontkowski, both of South Bend, Ind. Two brothers, Ernest and Ben preceded him in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Casimir Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. today in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Ind. Members of St. Casimir Senior Citizens Club and Holy Name Society will say the rosary at 2:30 p.m. Friday. There will also be a rosary at 7 p.m. by St. Casimir Parish, Married Mens Club, and Ushers Club. Ted was a member of St. Casimir Church, Senior Citizens Group, Married Mens Club, Ushers Club, Holy Name Society, and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman and was a 1931 graduate of South Bend Central High School.
