GRANGER - Jack Martinic, 72, of Granger passed away peacefully at home early Monday morning, with loved ones by his side. He was born on August 24 1942, in St. Joseph, MI, to the late Thomas and Emmlie (Kapuga) Martinic. On November 2, 1974, in Benton Harbor, MI, he married his love, Laura L. "Lori" (Harris) Martinic who lives in Granger. His other adored survivors include his daughter Tricia and her husband, Jeremy Wheelock of Holland, MI; his son Brian and his wife, Rachel Martinic of West Olive, MI; his grandchildren: Elle, Britta, Jack, and Fiona; his brother William (the late Susan) Martinic of Freemont, OH; and his sister Lee Zacha of Boulder, CO. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his son Jack, Jr., at age 12 and his brother Thomas (Ruth) Martinic of Tustin, MI. Jack was a member of St. Pius X Parish, served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1966, graduated from MSU, and worked for 33 years with life-long friends as an Engineer at Bendix/Bosch. He enjoyed fishing, his woods, picking his garden, and most of all the company of his treasured family, friends, and neighbors, circled around a fire or out in the driveway. Jack generously shared his strong and confident heart with his wife and children, grandchildren, his whole family and wonderful friends. In Jack's recent words, "Don't worry about me, I've got a guy waiting on me." Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at McGann Hay, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Rd.), where a parish Vigil Service will be at 4 pm.
