Ernest Orlowski, 74, of Joseph Lane, died Thursday in his home. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette (Huber); two daughters, Diane Orlowski and Sue Zwierzynski; six sons, David, Robert, Martin, Dennis, Paul and Steve: and two sisters, Evelyn Futa and Rita Celichowski. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Published Saturday, October 26, 2002 in The South Bend Tribune. Ernest Joseph Orlowski, 74, of Joseph Lane, South Bend, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, in his residence. He was born on Oct. 17,1928, in South Bend, to Martin and Hattie (Przybylski ) Orlowski, who both preceded him in death. Ernest, loving husband and father, married Jeanette Huber on October 22, 1949, in South Bend. She survives him along with eight children, Diane Orlowski, Sue (Gary) Zwierzynski, David (Evelyn ) Orlowski, Robert (Ann) Orlowski, Martin (Jan) Orlowski, Dennis (Karen) Orlowski, Paul (Kathy) Orlowski and Steve Orlowski; 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Evelyn Futa and Rita Celichowski. He worked at Wolfie's and was co-owner for many years. He retired nine years ago from the Water Works where he was a meter repairman. Ernest was involved with his church, community and enjoyed his many friends. He belonged to St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, Knights of Columbus, Achievement Forum, Harvest House, Polish-American Business and Professional Men's Association. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m.today, Oct. 27, with a Rosary at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Young Men's Society. Published Sunday, October 27, 2002, in The South Bend Tribune.
