It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Orlowski (Kanczuzewski) announces her passing on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor at the age of 70. Evelyn was born on November 7, 1947 in South Bend, IN to the late Casimir and Jane Kanczuzewski (Brandley). In 2016, Evelyn retired from AmeriGas after 20 years of service. Evelyn was a life-long member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and enjoyed singing in the choir to glorify our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing for family and friends. Evelyn was a talented artist performing cross stitch work that enhanced the lives of family and friends. Evelyn was a history buff and enjoyed travelling and seeing new places. In her past time, she enjoyed reading, playing casino slot machines, fishing at the family’s lake house, playing golf, watching crime dramas on TV, and caring for her beloved pets Rosie, Dolly, and Abby. Evelyn’s passion was collecting antique jewelry; she proudly wore different jewelry every day, even until her final days. She also collected Depression glass, Fiesta ware and Precious Moments figurines. She was a loving wife and step mother, who will be greatly missed by all. On November 11, 1989, in South Bend, IN Evelyn was united in marriage to her loving husband David E. Orlowski, who survives. She is also survived by her step-children Carrie and Michael Orlowski. Arrangements are being entrusted to Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (EST) at Palmer Funeral Home and on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 915 N Ironwood Dr, South Bend, IN 46615. A life celebration will be held at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. (EST). Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery immediately following the service.
