[N3223] Henrietta C. Bilinski
Nov. 10, 1917 - Feb. 18, 2011
CRUMSTOWN - Henrietta C. Bilinski, 93, passed away at 3:47 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011, in Hospice House after a short illness. Henrietta was born November 10, 1917, in Crumstown, to the late Steve and Anna (Makielski) Borlik. On June 12, 1948, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupee, Henrietta married Chester Bilinski, who passed away on July 16, 1973. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Evelyn Stroobandt and Margaret Marshall; and brothers, Joseph and Edward Borlik. Henrietta is survived by a son, James of Bartlett, IL; grandsons, Jakob (McKenzie) Bilinski of Huntingburg, IN, and Matthew and Michael Bilinski of Bartlett IL; brothers, Leonard and Stanley (Dorothy), both of South Bend; numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces; and a number of neighbors who cared for her in recent years. However, she mostly cared for them. Henrietta spent her entire life in the area, living close to the farm and land she loved. She was employed at Raco Manufacturing for 46 years. Henrietta and Chester were one of the original families at Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality and diligently worked at the weekly bingo and at the annual parish carnival. She loved knitting, reading and cooking for neighbors and relatives. No one will forget the chicken soup, lemon and apple pies. Henrietta enjoyed taking walks, polkas, sitting on the porch with her Rosary and a romance novel, checking on the welfare of her precious grandsons, nieces and nephews, visiting garage sales and taking a trip to the boat. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She always brought joy and love to everyone's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Masses at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619; and to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in Holy Family Catholic Church.
