Paula was born on July 26, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis in 1966. After high school, she worked at Fort Harrison in Indianapolis. On July 5, 1969, she married John Dominic Schimizzi, who graduated from Butler University Pharmacy School in the spring of 1969. They were married for 47 years. Paula was a life member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 360 and a color guard member. She was a longtime parishioner of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she served as a commentator for ten years and previously sang in the choir. Paula held a cosmetology license and was a nationally certified pharmacy technician. Her last employer was St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where she worked as a pharmacy technician starting in 1992 and retired in 2010 due to her illness. Paula was very devoted to her children and grandchildren. She held various jobs, such as legal secretary, beautician, pharmacy technician, and mail carrier. She was a stay-at-home mother when the children were young. Paula is survived by her husband, John, her twin brother, MstSgt. Paul Michael King, ret. USAF, and his wife Roberta from Aurora, Colorado, and her three daughters: Patricia Rose DiMarzio, a pharmacist from Granger, Indiana, her husband Dante, and children, Joseph and Stella; Anita Marie Schimizzi, a psychologist from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and her husband, Jacob Bonenberger, and son, Francisco; and Annette Schimizzi, a high school English teacher from South Bend, Indiana, and her partner, Andrea Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis William and Betty Ruth King. Paula enjoyed time with her grandchildren, especially taking them to the beach. She enjoyed trips with her family to the Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Great Smoky Mountains. She also enjoyed white water rafting and touring southern plantation homes. Paula loved going to Penn High School football games and taking her yearly trips to Ormond Beach with her husband, where she enjoyed rafting on the ocean and long walks on the beach. Her favorite pastime was taking long walks and she did this with her husband even throughout her illness.
