SOUTH BEND - After fighting cancer for 25 years, Almeda Virginia "Ginger" Wiskotoni, 81, passed away Jan. 14, 2008, in her home in Lake Havasu City, AZ, with her family at her side. She was born Jan. 11, 1927, to Emanuel and Minnie (Riggins) Kaufman in Warsaw, Indiana. During her earlier years, she was an office manager in the manufactured home industry in northern Indiana. In 1983 she and her husband moved to Mesa, Arizona, from South Bend, where they lived until 1987 and then moved to Lake Havasu City. She was a member of St. Michael's United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was a past member of the Western Welcome Club, Elkettes and Eastern Star. She was an avid supporter of hospice. She enjoyed crossword and jig-saw puzzles and trips to Laughlin. She is survived by her husband, Joseph; a daughter, Sydney (Jerry) DeYoung of Gilbert, AZ; a son, Rock E. (Laurena) Aker of Naperville, IL; stepdaughter, Becky of Indianapolis; stepsons, Ric and Philip of Elkhart, and Jim of Concord, NC; seven grandchildren, Nyssa and Ian Cody of Naperville, Therace Pollard, Nikki Shants, Erika Peterson of Chandler, AZ, and Erin Deyoung and Gradi Thompson of the Tucson, AZ, Phoenix area; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and five sisters. Memorial services were held January 18, 2008, in St. Michael's United Methodist Church, Lake Havasu. Pastor Rick Carling officiated. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lake Havasu. Remains will be interred at Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum, South Bend. Arrangements were handled by the Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
