A Mass of Christian burial for Catherine Bessignano Pasquale, 98, Indianapolis, formerly of Logansport, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in All Saints Catholic Church. She died at 1:40 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in St. Augustine Home for the Aged, Indianapolis. Born Feb. 7, 1910, in Peru, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Angeline Mattiaccia Bessignano. She was married Oct. 26, 1929, in Peru, to Nicholas Pasquale, who preceded in death Aug. 7, 1996. Catherine lived most of her adult life in Logansport, raising her family. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Logansport High School, retiring in 1973. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, their Altar Rosary Society, Daughters of Isabella, and was a charter member of the William Paca Lodge, Order of Sons of Italy in America. Catherine enjoyed cooking and serving her family.
Surviving are four children, Rosann and Ken Haines, Westfield, Jim and Sherry Pasquale, Logansport, Mary and Gene Miller, Fishers, and Margaret and Ron Fouts, Elloree, S.C.; one brother, Dominic Bessignano, South Bend; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, one daughter, one grandson, and four sisters. Father Michael McKinney will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kroeger Funeral Home, where there will be a rosary and scripture service at 6 p.m. followed by a William Paca Lodge Service and D of I Service at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Augustine Home for the Aged, 2345 W. 86th St., Indianapolis IN 46260
