Florence E. Farkas (Feb. 7, 1915 - Dec. 14, 1992)
Florence E. Farkas, 77, of Wilber Street, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Farkas was born Feb. 7, 1915, in Phillips, Wisconsin., and lived in South Bend most of her life. On March 7, 1934, in Phillips, as Florence E. Woods, she married Louis Farkas. He died May 25, 1981. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ballinger of South Bend: three sons, Louis of Goshen, James of Osceola, and Robert of Park Forest, Ill; four grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a sister, Jane Rhode of Roswell, N.M. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
