SOUTH BEND - Betty A. Kwasneski, 84, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Hamilton Grove in New Carlisle, IN. Betty was born in Mishawaka, IN to the late David and Marie Durant. She was also preceded in death by her husband Leo Kwasneski on May 5, 2014, her daughter, Elizabeth Mroczkiewicz, sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Robert Hillebrand and brother-in-law, Daniel Kwasneski. She is survived by her son Michael (Kim) Kwasneski of Pt. St. Lucie, FL, daughter, Michele (Richard) Ennis of Rockledge, FL, grandchildren, Tara, Eric and Sara, son-in-law Thomas Mroczkiewicz of South Bend, IN, and several nieces and nephews. Betty graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1947 and married Leo on July 26, 1952. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. As a founding member of the Alzheimer's and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, Betty volunteered countless hours to her passionate cause. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Anthony 's Catholic Church in South Bend, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon and lunch at the Church Hall. She and Leo will be laid to rest together at Highland Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, P.O. Box 4204, South Bend, Indiana, 46634. Leo & Betty Kwasneski 60th Wedding
Leo & Betty (Durant) Kwasneski will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 26th. They were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, IN. Leo graduated from Central Catholic H.S. and retired from the S.B. Police Department and Brinks. Betty graduated from Mishawaka H.S. Leo & Betty have three children, Michael (Kim) Kwasneski of Port St. Lucie, FL, Michele (Richard) Ennis of Rockledge, FL, the late Elizabeth (Tom) Mroczkiewicz of South Bend; and grandchildren, Tara, Eric & Sara.
