[N536] Laverne M. "Bunny" Kwasneski
Aug. 11, 1932 - Jan. 29, 2015
SOUTH BEND - Laverne M. "Bunny" Kwasneski, 82, of South Bend, passed away peacefully at 7:45 am Thursday, January 29, 2015 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Laverne was born August 11, 1932, in Eau Claire, MI, to the late William and Tilly (Hibner) Kublick and coming from Berrien Co., MI, lived most of her life in South Bend. She had been employed with Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., retiring in 1992. On September 30, 1961, she married Edward C. Kwasneski, who preceded in death after 37 years of marriage on July 26, 1999. Laverne is survived by her son, Barry Hill of South Bend, her brother, Jerry (Shirley) Kublick of Bonita Springs, FL, 2 step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Laverne was also preceded in death by five sisters and 7 brothers. In her younger years, Laverne did some modeling while living in Florida. She eventually got into the grocery business for a while before coming to South Bend, where she taught dancing and worked as an office worker, eventually being employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. until she retired. Laverne was a most wonderful, loving and devoted mother, wife, sister and aunt, dedicated to being there for her family and friends. She loved family gatherings, especially the annual family reunions, where she enjoyed being with her 12 brothers and sisters and all her nieces and nephews. She never missed a family reunion. She enjoyed dancing and teaching others to dance. She was a very giving person with a heart of gold who cared about others and would always help when she could. With her bubbly personality, she was everybody's friend and a joy to be with. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the nursing staff on the 10th floor south at Memorial Hospital and Center for Hospice Care for making Laverne's passing as comfortable as possible. There will be no services. Cremation will take place. Her cremains will be buried at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, at a late date. To send online condolences, please visit www.kaniewski.com.
