SOUTH BEND - Helen J. Pawlak, 97, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Helen was born January 24, 1914, in South Bend, Indiana, to Aloysius and Mary (Helak) Janowski. She retired from the former Bendix Corporation after many years. On September 30, 1939, Helen married John Pawlak, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1975. Surviving are her sisters, Rita Pinkowski of South Bend, Indiana, Lottie Kowalski of Enon, Ohio; a brother, Marion Janowski of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Helene Janowski of Granger, Indiana, Dolores Janowski of South Bend, Indiana; and a niece Judy Stabnik of Granger, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend, Indiana, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
