MISHAWAKA - Jo Ann Kujawski, 83, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away unexpectedly, at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. She was born on May 12, 1929 to the late Stephen J. and Margaret (Buysse) Tomolak in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents, one son, Gary E. Kujawski; her fiancĀ©b, Stanley Barnhardt; and a sister, Nancy J. Kaczmarek, also preceded her in death. Jo Ann was a dedicated and proud mother and homemaker, who took great pride raising her five loving children. She also worked for a short while at Merle Norman Cosmetics in Mishawaka, IN. Jo Ann is survived by her two daughters; Susan M. Barth of South Bend, IN and Claire M. (Dennis) Glass of Inglewood, CA; two sons, Neal S. (Kathy) Kujawski of Elkhart, IN and Kenneth J. (Sida) Kujawski of Granger, IN; 10 grandchildren, Kerstin (Mark) Youman of Fairfax, VA; Melanie (Tom) Russin of Sarasota, FL; Joshua Barth of Sarasota, FL, Tara (Dylan) Kujawski of Atlanta, GA; Jenny (Adam) Plaisance of Atlanta, GA; Ashley (Mark) Seymour of Torrance, CA; Cory Glass of Inglewood, CA; Kevin Kujawski of Des Moines, IA, Kyle Kujawski of Mishawaka, IN; and Devin Mokhanhtha of Granger, IN; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas (Sandy) Tomolak of Edwardsburg, MI. Jo Ann was a current member of St. Therese, Little Flower Parish; and a former member of Holy Cross Rosary & Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and dancing, and was an avid Notre Dame Fan. Jo Ann was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was the matriarch of the family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. at the church. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
