MISHAWAKA - Ann M. Seward, 94, of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday evening, January 24, 2009, in the Golden Living Center - Fountainview, Mishawaka. Ann was born September 15, 1914, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian (Nicholas) Kalil. She grew up in Mishawaka. On July 31, 1943, Ann married Raymond Seward and the couple made Mishawaka their home. Ann was employed many years in the shoe room at Uniroyal. She was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church. Her favorite pastime was crocheting.Other interests included sewing, knitting, cooking and traveling. Ann's surviving family includes two sisters, Ruth Marie Kalil of Mishawaka and Agnes Fry of Mishawaka; two brothers, Louis (Genevieve) Kalil of Mishawaka and John (Delores) Kalil of South Bend; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; three sisters, Mary Mansour, Verna Jean David and Sister Rose Marie Kalil, PHJC; a brother, Philip Kalil; and by an infant brother, John Kalil. Friends may spend time with Ann's family today (Monday) from 4 to 8 p.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. Third, Mishawaka, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friends may also call Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka
Ave., Mishawaka. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the church, with Rev. Jeffery Largent officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Contributions in Ann's memory may be made to the American Lung Association. Assistance with memorials is available in the funeral home.
