Obit: Robert E."BJ" Jones, 69, of Mishawaka,passed away in his homeon Tuesday, December 13th. He was born June 17,1936,in South Bend, Indiana, to John Henry Jones and Laura (Snyder) Jones, who both preceded him in death, He is survived by his first wife and constant companion of the last six years, Rita (Jozwiak) Finley, and their four children, Bonnie (James) VanDe Voorde of South Bend, Duane (Donna) Jones of Aztec,New Mexico, Johnathan Jones of Mishawaka and Colleen Hammell of South Bend, Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Fannie Winters of Deltona,Florida, and Sharon Garver of South Bend, a brother, James Sanford Jones of Mishawaka, and a sister, Ida L. Parker of South Bend, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his son,Leroy, a second wife, Dorene (Anderson) Jones, a brother, Benjamin Henry Jones, and several half-siblings, Mr. Jones was a taxicab driver for over 40 years, He was co-owner of the Checker Cab Company and had worked for the Yellow Cab Company of South Bend for 32 years, He was the former owner of Jones Lawn Care, He was a member of the Bible Way Baptist Church, the Moose Lodge #58, the American Legion and the St.Joseph Young Men's Society Inc. He enjoyed fishing, boating,playing euchre, meeting people, and driving his cab, Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North,3910 North Main Street,Mishawaka,Indiana, Where friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. today, Officiating the services will be Pastor Daniel Duncan of the Bible Way Baptist Church, Burial will follow the services at St.Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
